We are in need of volunteers to bring Holy Communion to the Catholic residents of the Homestead Nursing Home. Eucharistic Ministers who bring Holy Communion to the Homstead receive the Eucharist from the priest at the end of the 9:00am Mass and hold a brief Communion service for those patients able to meet together. They also visit those patients who are unable to leave their rooms, and bring Christ to them in the Eucharist. If a patient is unable to receive Holy Communion, they take a few moments to pray with them and for them. For some patients, the Eucharistic Minister is their only visitor. If you are not currently a Eucharistic Minister, training will be arranged for you, and is not a very involved or time-consuming process. Should you volunteer, your time of service would be approximately one Sunday every five weeks. Please consider the holy and privileged service of bringing the Blessed Sacrament to those who are unable to come to Mass on their own. If you are able to assist us, please contact Dan Salvatore at 973-579-1908 for further details.
