Friday, February 3rd, is the feast of St. Blaise who is the patron saint of throat illnesses, animals, wool combers, and wool trading.
St. Blaise is invoked at the blessing of throats, because when he was in prison he miraculously cured a young boy who was choking to death on a fishbone stuck in his throat.
In this season where many of us have ailments related to the throat because of colds and such, let us ask the intercession of St. Blaise.
Throats will be blessed on Friday, February 3, 2023 at the 8:30 am Mass and on this weekend's Masses (Saturday at 5 pm, Sunday at 7:30, 9:00 and 11:00 am).
